Today I turned 45. Aren’t I the brave one, to be able to freely and openly state an age like that online for all to read. I’m not sure what the big deal is about admitting your age. I really have never had any hesitation when someone asked me to tell them how old I am, never been tempted to fudge and say that I’m 29 or 39. Maybe I’m strange, but, I have a great deal of respect for older people and their collective wit and wisdom and have no problem joining their rank.
The day was spent with family here in Denver. I was taken to lunch at White Fence Farm where we dined on fried chicken with all the trimmings. We wandered about the grounds and watched the little ones feed the goats and pose for pictures on the antique John Deere tractor. Inside, I took a picture of a familiar site as I picked up my free fudge that I was awarded for coming to White Fence Farm on my birthday. For those of you who work on the same campus as I do, this is a recognizable icon:
Tomorrow I head to Boulder for the business part of this trip. The weather is beautiful and it’s been a very enjoyable time so far. I heard from all but one of my children today for my birthday and my Mom sang Happy Birthday to me on the phone. Life is good!

Happy Birthday!
