Oh my gosh, what a fabulous meal. And, even better, fabulous company!
Dinner last night at The Kitchen Cafe in Boulder was, to say the least, exquisite. The Kitchen is a little community bistro, famous for its menu which changes daily and is created from organic ingredients. The meal was served in four courses, and I can’t remember the last time I ate that much. Here’s a rundown of some of the highlights:
Appetizers:
Hummus, Spiced Nuts, a Ricotta spread with roasted olives, mixed kalamata olives, a meat and cheese plate with pancetta, homemade salami and mixed cheeses and grilled bread.
Starters:
Cure Farm Spicy Green Salad – radish, hakuri turnips, lemon & pecorino, Warm Asparagus Flan – with truffle hazelnut vinaigrette & sprouts, Bollito Misto – long farm pork belly, brisket, house sausage & salsa verde, House Made Gnocchi – duck, english peas, chèvre & dill
Entrees:
Grilled Line Caught Hamachi – roasted spring vegetables & fennel chili salsa, Roasted Pork Loin with a mustard and fig sauce with polenta, Au Gratin potatoes and sauted greens
Dessert:
Angel Food Cake, Pot au Chocolat and Sticky Toffee Pudding
Assorted wines, coffees and El Dorado Spring water
It was a great meal, served family style, and a lovely time was had by all. Thanks to all of my colleagues for a lovely experience in Boulder!
